EAP for Individuals
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) helps resolve personal problems before they negatively affect your health, relationships with others, or job performance. Synchrony EAP counselors provide confidential, professional counseling, education, and referral services to you and your family members. Based on your employer’s contract with Synchrony, our counselors can meet with you for a pre-determined number of times for assessment and short-term counseling. Ongoing sessions are available through utilizing your personal insurance benefits or referrals can be made to other community services, if needed.
The EAP can help you with a variety of issues:
- Emotional concerns
- Marital and family problems
- Other relationship issues
- Stress and emotional trouble related to finances
- Stress and emotional trouble related to legal issues
- Substance use concerns
- Work-related concerns
When you come to Synchrony, you will meet with an experienced and specially trained counselor who will assist you in getting the help you need. If the counselor believes you need specialized or longer-term counseling, you may be referred to another qualified professional. The important thing is that you and your counselor decide on a plan that’s right for you.
Tobacco Cessation
Tobacco cessation is an important topic for many employers and their employees. Smoking related illness in the U.S. cost more than $300 billion a year, which includes $156 billion in lost productivity. 40 million Americans are smokers, however, studies show at any given time, 40% of smokers are thinking about quitting and 20% are ready to quit.
Synchrony can help your organization become smoke and tobacco free through the American Lung Association’s Freedom from Smoking program. This evidence-based program helps participants develop a plan of action leading to quit day and provides support to remain tobacco free. The program meets current practice standards of the Affordable Care Act and leading health organizations.
The curriculum is delivered to a group of 6-16 employees with 8 2-hour sessions over the course of 7 weeks. Contact us for more information about the program, scheduling, and pricing.
EAP Training Resources
Studies have shown companies who make investments in training and staff development have lower employee turnover and higher customer satisfaction. It is our mission to help your company achieve these goals.

Company Specific Trainings
Synchrony also offers trainings tailored for company needs. These can be presented at either the Synchrony office or on-site at the company. Contact Synchrony for details on training hours included in your company contract or per case pricing.
Trainings we can provide include, but are not limited to:
- Stress Management
- Dealing with Difficult People
- Performance Management and Reviews
- Navigating Change
- Diversity and Cultural Competency
- Sexual Harrassment
- Drug-Free Workplace
Drug-Free Workplace
Over 77% of people who use illicit drugs are employed. Absenteeism, increased healthcare costs, and decreased productivity due to alcohol and other substance use can cost your company roughly $1,000 per employee per year.
We can help you create a drug-free workplace through counseling and training. If your organization is regulated by the Department of Transportation (DOT), we offer a complete DOT compliance program with training for your supervisors.
There are two versions of this training. The first, for new supervisors and anyone who has not taken the class before, is two hours long. The second is a refresher class for those who have already taken the first class, and it is one hour long. Both classes include dynamic activities, discussion, and videos, and the skills learned in the class are easily transferable to the workplace. In fact, these skills include consistency, documentation, and progressive discipline, which are necessary skills for supervisors regardless of whether drugs or alcohol are concerned.
We can come to your site day or evening to conduct this training for any size group. Contact us for scheduling and pricing information.

Carli Holub
Mental Health Therapist
I believe therapy provides a way to work through life’s difficulties by processing challenges and working to achieve goals. I use Person-Centered and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approaches to appreciate every individual’s unique experience by providing support and offering insight in a nonjudgmental space.
My skills include providing counseling services to clients related to anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicidal ideation along with various other concerns.

Michael Fink
Mental Health Therapist
I approach counseling from an integrated, holistic, and client-centered lens. I believe everyone is different, and we are who we are because of interactions between emotional, cognitive, biological, social, cultural, and interpersonal factors.
Counseling starts with listening, and I will do that for you first and foremost. My current areas of expertise are working with substance use disorders, depression, anxiety, and interpersonal relationships, but I am constantly looking to learn more and improve my practice to meet client needs.
